This compact residence is a study in simplicity, efficiency, and connection to nature. Designed for clients who embrace a minimalist lifestyle, the home prioritizes thoughtful space planning, daylight, and seamless indoor–outdoor living over unnecessary square footage.

A rain screen façade of thermally modified wood wraps the building in warmth and durability, responding to the demands of the Pacific Northwest climate while aging gracefully over time. Covered outdoor spaces extend the living area year-round, providing sheltered places to gather, work, and observe the shifting seasons.

The home is oriented south toward a quiet pond, capturing sunlight, warmth, and expansive views of water and sky. Large openings frame bird activity and seasonal changes, bringing nature into everyday life. Inside, carefully integrated built-ins and spatial optimization allow each square foot to work hard, creating a home that feels generous, calm, and uncluttered.

This project demonstrates how restraint, clarity, and craft can shape a highly livable home—one that supports a simpler way of living while remaining deeply connected to its environment.
